Who Writes Our Content

Authorship

Articles in our learning center are written by Jonathan Mullins, an Army Veteran and Mortgage Loan Officer at Military Mortgage. Every article carries his byline, title, and a link to his full profile so you always know exactly who is speaking to you — no anonymous content, no outsourced filler.

Applies to

All 59 learning-center articles and VA guide pages

What We Source From

Source Materials

We write from primary government sources — the VA Lender's Handbook (Pamphlet 26-7), VA circulars, FHFA conforming loan limit announcements, and DoD BAH rate publications. We don't summarize other mortgage blogs or repeat secondhand numbers. Every key figure traces back to an agency document listed on our Data Sources page.

Applies to

Articles, guides, calculators, and the Battle Buddy™ assistant

How Content Is Reviewed

Review Process

Before an article publishes, it is checked against the official source it cites — chapter and topic in the VA handbook, or the specific agency publication for limits and rates. Pages that reference annual figures (loan limits, funding fee tiers, BAH rates) are re-reviewed when the agency releases new values.

Applies to

Every article before publication, and on each annual data update

Compliance Review

Advertising Rules

As a mortgage broker, our content follows mortgage advertising rules: no promises to beat rates, no invented testimonials, no implied government affiliation, and clear licensing language sitewide. Our AI assistant answers VA questions verbatim from the VA Lender's Handbook and cites the source — it never quotes rates or makes lending decisions.

Applies to

All pages, ads, AI responses, and sponsored partner placements

Corrections & Updates

Keeping Content Current

When the VA, FHFA, or DoD publishes a change, we update the affected pages and mark the review date on the page. If we get something wrong, we fix it and tell you — corrections are made openly, not quietly. You can report an error anytime through our Contact page and we'll verify it against the official source.

Applies to

All content, reviewed continuously and on annual data releases

Editorial Independence

Advertising Separation

Sponsored partners pay for clearly labeled advertising placements — never for coverage, rankings, or favorable content. Partner cards are kept out of our articles, calculators, and application flow, and every placement is disclosed as paid advertising. Our editorial content is not for sale.

Applies to

All sponsored partner placements sitewide

What We Don't Do

We don't publish content just to rank for keywords, copy figures from other websites without checking the agency source, accept payment for editorial coverage, or imply that we're the VA or any government agency. Educational content on this site explains the rules — it is not a loan approval, a rate quote, or a commitment to lend, and it isn't a substitute for guidance on your specific file.
